What should two people budget?
Two Smyth Menus total $840 in food; two Chef's Menus total $1,100. Adding the published $245 Smyth wine pairing for each guest brings those subtotals to $1,330 and $1,590 respectively. These are calculations from published prices, before tax and any tip, extras or transport.
The booking FAQ says there is no automatic gratuity or service charge. Set your full evening budget before selecting drinks. A deposit applied to your final bill is a payment toward dinner, not an additional menu charge.
Reservations and the November change
Smyth announces that visits from November 5, 2026 will have a single extended Chef's Menu and require full prepayment. Do not assume the current two-menu choice applies to those dates. Check the announcement and current booking terms for your visit.
The Tock FAQ currently describes a non-refundable deposit, rescheduling with at least seven days' notice, and transfers through Tock. It lists a rolling 90-day release at noon CST, but also retains an older monthly-release answer. Use the live calendar and ask the restaurant if a date is unclear.
Dietary needs and access
The published menu policy excludes vegan diets and several allergies, and the Chef's Menu allows no dietary changes. Ask Smyth to approve your exact needs before paying; an online note alone is not confirmation. Read the full dietary policy.
Tock describes vegetarian accommodation for the Smyth Menu when eggs and clarified butter are acceptable. It also says accessible entry can be arranged through the adjacent garage and elevator. Include mobility needs in the pre-visit questionnaire. There is no formal dress code. Visitor FAQ.
Plan the evening around the meal
Use 177 N. Ada Street, Suite 101 as your destination. Our advice is to keep the end of the evening flexible, especially with the extended menu. A prepaid event immediately afterward leaves little room for a longer service or a delayed arrival.
